Te-Amo (Casa Turrent) – Mexico
The Mexican Turrent family have spent generations cultivating tobacco, initially for other notable brands such as Macanudo and Padron. It was thanks to the Cuban embargo by the United States that business started to flourish north of the border. It wasn’t until Alejandro Turrent sought to manufacture his own brand of cigars in the form of Te-Amo that the business would take a new direction.
At first, demand for these Mexican cigars was low but over time and through the proof of concept popularity started to grow. It was New York City where the first increase in demand was, at one point over 170 stores in the city were stocking Te-Amo. Alejandro went on expanding the portfolio with new and innovative cigars. In 2013 the Casa Turrent range was released to the international market. Casa Turrent was a new dawn as Alejandro positioned it as the new flagship brand.
