Drew Estate, founded by Jonathan Drew and Marvin Samel in 1998. This company had a rocky start but the two plucky Americans were determined to make it work. Above all they gave the brand everything they had, sacrificing it all for the vision. The company has its roots as a small kiosk in the World Trade Center. The next step was releasing their first cigar ‘La Vieja Habana’. Unfortunately after hurricane Mitch wreaked havoc upon Nicaragua the brand was subsequently placed on hold.
The year 2000 saw the company release a new concept. This was a radical departure from traditional cigars. Dubbed ‘ACID’ these unique cigars were infused with an array of spices. As a result of its smash success the company became a talking point. Next year this was followed up by the far more traditional ‘Natural’. This displayed that on the other hand they could pay homage to the traditional side of cigars. After that the brand went on to great success releasing inventive blends.
Drew Estate’s Liga Privada range is known for its superior quality bold cigars. The new Bauhaus is no different. Designed with the German architectural philosophy in mind, the team set about creating a cigar that perfectly combines form and function.
A special blend of Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, Brazilian binder and Nicaraguan/Honduran filler results in a cigar with heady sweet notes and vegetal tones.
