The Northern Briar Pipe Repair Service was founded in 1958 by George Walker after a long and illustrious career with Duncan Briars in England. He and his son would be sought after by most major pipe shops across the United Kingdom to service and repair pipes.
In 1972 Ian Walker came on board, initially under the role of apprentice. Over the next decade he worked his way up the ladder, becoming the main repairman and well known for his skills.
By the 1980’s Ian was creating his own pipes under the Northern Briar name, these would go on to be world renowned for their ingenuity, style variation and high quality craftsmanship.
