Rocky Patel
Rocky Patel is a name synonymous with great New World cigars but how did this come to be? In the 90s Rakesh Patel, also known by ‘Rocky’, was working as a lawyer to many Hollywood stars. Through time spent with actors such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Rocky Patel gained a love and appreciation for cigars that little did he know would go on to change the course of his life. After some time soul searching he decided to sell his legal practice and chase his new dream of owning a cigar brand, moving to Honduras for half a decade and subsequently becoming well versed in cigar manufacturing. From the field to the barn he made sure to soak up any and all information he could.
In the early 2000s he went on to buy Indian Tabac Company and renamed them Rocky Patel Premium Cigars. Over the next few years he went on to release different Vintage Blends such as the 1990 Signature Collection Aged 12 Year Petit Belicosos. From these first successes Rocky Patel was propelled into the limelight. Building upon this advantageous exposure he went on to release different lines such as the highly acclaimed Decade, Grand Reserve, Sungrown and The Edge to name but a few.
