Ashton
Ashton cigars was founded in 1980 by Robert Levin. Situated in Philadelphia, U.S.A the Levin family were veterans of the local industry running Holt’s Cigar Shop for decades. After years under his fathers wing Robert would take the reins in the 1970’s.
Robert’s aptitude for business saw the company flourish and by the 1980s Robert was set on founding his own cigar brand. Ashton cigars were eventually launched in 1985. A short time later he would manage to partner up with the famous Fuente family.
The Fuente’s (Carlos Fuente Sr & Carlito) who are undisputed legends in the industry, were the perfect partnership to propel the Ashton brand to success. In 1999 the release of the Virgin Sun Grown line would receive critical acclaim. This trend would only continue as the portfolio expanded.
Today the business is run by Robert Levin along with his son Sathya. The relationship between the Levin’s and Fuente’s is strong as ever, this is undoubtedly the brand’s key to success.
