Introduction
VITOLA: Petit Corona
RING GAUGE: 43
LENGTH: 5 Inches – 127 mm
ORIGIN: Dominican Republic
In our previous Davidoff Blog we went over the history of this iconic company, in this blog we focus on one very special cigar.
The Grand Cru range was the first of the Dominican Davidoff cigars to be launched and remains one of the brands most popular lines to this day.
A Different Class
Davidoff are known for their exceptional quality and with their transition to New World planned to execute the same standard as their Habanos. Instead of trying to emulate the Cuban blend Davidoff opted for a new approach.
Harnessing the power of the piloto leaf the blenders engineered a spicy yet rich cigar that is sophisticated in its palate and therefore more suited to the connoisseur. After the initial success of the Grand Cru range Davidoff were willing to expand their scope and try their hand at using tobacco from other new world countries.
Vitola
The Grand Cru No.3 is a Petit Corona that measures 5 inches long and has a 43 ring gauge.
This cigar will take you somewhere in the region of half an hour to smoke making it the ideal choice for when out at a function or meal.
Flavour Profile
The Grand Cru No.3 offers a mixture of flavours ranging from cedar and oak to spices and nuts.
Some with a more distinguished palate will pick up on notes of cream, herbs, toast and sweet baked goods. As mentioned previously this cigar is recommended for those with a developed taste for cigars.
