Back in 1959 a young boy of 15 joined Alfred Dunhill as a capstan-lathe operator. This started the career of one William Ashton Taylor, founder to the Ashton brand.

Excelling in his craft, after many years at Dunhill, his talents were noticed and rewarded. Special knowledge of techniques that had been guarded closely as trade secrets were bestowed upon William.

In the early 1980’s thoughts of starting a company of Bill’s own became a reality. The highest standards in craftsmanship were forefront in his objective. Bearing his name ASHTON the company went on to be known for the upmost quality pipes and tobaccos.
