Samuel Gawith was not only an entrepreneur but also a prominent Kendal figure. He had a stint as the Mayor of Kendal, which the brand honour with the ‘Kendal Mayors Collection’.
Many generations of the Gawith family have been crucial at keeping the brand alive for all these years. To the relief of pipe smokers worldwide the brand continues to operate to this day. Having one of the largest catalogues of pipe tobaccos has kept them as a permanent fixture in smoking culture.
