Samuel Gawith, formed in 1792 in Kendal, England by the man whose name it bears father in-law. In the beginning, the company was focused primarily on snuff and rope pipe tobaccos. Running off second hand 1750’s equipment that had been transported cross country by horse, the company quickly became successful. Samuel Gawith was not only an entrepreneur but also a prominent Kendal figure. He had a stint as the Mayor of Kendal, which the brand honour with the ‘Kendal Mayors Collection’.

Many generations of the Gawith family have been crucial at keeping the brand alive for all these years. To the relief of pipe smokers worldwide the brand continues to operate to this day. Having one of the largest catalogues of pipe tobaccos has kept them as a permanent fixture in smoking culture. Ranging from centuries old traditional blends to modern aromatics, Samuel Gawith has a blend for every pipe smoker. Try one of these amazing tobaccos today.
