Macanudo

The name Macanudo was originally a vitola of cigar produced in Guatemala by the Cuban brand Punch. In later years it was sold to Temple Hall, a Jamaican cigar company. A few years later Temple Hall was acquired by the General Cigar Co and as a result so was Macanudo. 

The new owners would go about reworking the Macanudo brand creating a new proprietary blend after extensive testing of tobacco leaves from around the globe. The final creation is owed to a master blender, Alfons Mayer. In 1971 the world was introduced to this blend and the reception was positive. Cigars were manufactured in Jamaica until the factory closed in 2000, at which time the brand moved its base of operations to the Dominican Republic.

Macanudo are known for their alluring, dark wrapper leaf and medium to strong nature. Sweet and satisfying, these cigars are great for the advanced cigar smoker.
