Every now and then ‘LTD Classic Series’ pipes emerge. It is not planned, there are no scheduled annual releases. There is no pattern to the style of pipes released in this range, with previous entries being long, short, filtered, unfiltered, large and small. What is foremost in the mind of the team at Rattray’s is that these pipes will be pipes to remember.
This year’s model came in a range of 3 different colours. An availability of only 30 pipes of each colour makes these pipes highly sought after. On the first look the shape is rather peculiar, but once it’s in your hand it feels just perfect. Made from only the highest quality briar. Remember, once they’re gone they’re gone!
In 1903 Charles Rattray opened The House of Rattray in Perth after receiving many years training in Dundee which was the stronghold of the tobacco industry at that time. Known mainly for blending tobacco on site, Rattray’s became one of the biggest tobacco companies on the British Isles and although the original building is no longer there the infamous blends, traditional and aromatic can still be enjoyed today.
