A Family Business
Ardor Pipes were established in 1974 by Dorelio Rovera and his father Angelo, this is where the brand takes its name from (AR – Angelo Rovera DOR – Dorelio). Angelo was son of a pipemaker Francesco Rovera who ran Sociedade Rovera, a pipe manufacturing company established in 1911.
With a long family history in the trade it is no surprise that these two’s combined expertise would bring about the creation of many fantastic briar pipes. All pipes manufactured by Ardor are 100% hand made with the briar being personally selected by Dorelio himself.
Nowadays there are three generations of Rovera’s working together as in more recent years Dorelio’s sons Damiano and Dimitri have come onboard bringing a fresh perspective to the company.
If you are looking for original, stylish hand made Italian briar pipes then look no further.
Ardor – Urano Rustica Pipe
Weight: 86g
Length: 145mm
Bowl Width: 22mm
Bowl Depth: 45mm
The Urano Rustica is an ebony sandblast pipe fashioned in a shape known as the “elephant’s foot”.
A unique ivory coloured lucite stem has been paired with it, in turn embodying it with an air of class. Tying off the stellar aesthetic qualities is a sterling silver band.
A generously proportioned bowl allows for a plentiful pipe-full making this the ideal choice for those looking for a longer smoke.
The rustication of the bowl means that despite the tobacco burning for a long period of time the bowl itself will not overheat. Don’t miss your chance to buy this one-of-a-kind pipe today!
Ardor: 3049 Pipe
Weight: 57g
Length: 140mm
Bowl Width: 22mm
Bowl Depth: 45mm
This pipe is unlike any other shape we have had in stock before. Perhaps the best description would be that the bowl is “wheel shaped” and a light caramel brown. Treated to a sandblasting process, the end result is a pipe that rests perfectly in the palm and allows for a good grip.
The bowl itself is not carbon treated, this means that the pipe will have to be broken in slowly. To do this one must let the pipe rest every couple of days for a couple of days before reusing.
When looking at the shank it is semi box shaped and is bridged by a silver mount. The stem bears a truly unique pattern. The same pattern has been applied to the top of the shank creating a seamless look to the pipe.
As with the Urano Rustica the bowl of the 3049 is rather deep, thus accommodating a large bowlful of baccy.
