Baby’s Bottom pipe tobacco mixture was first introduced by H.L. Savory & Co. Ltd., a tobacco shop in London with the history dating back to 1885. Dunhill purchased this business in 1932 and due to high demand reintroduced the Baby’s Bottom in 1938 under the name My Mixture BB1938 (in US released as My Mixture Baby’s Bottom).
Production of this blend originally ceased when Murray’s took over blending duties of the Dunhill brands. It was then re-introduced in 2015 just to be discontinued again a few years later with Dunhill’s decision to stop producing pipe tobacco. While there are some gossips circulating online forums about Peterson’s tobacco buying the rights to release the discontinued Dunhill’s blends (in America at least), My Mixture BB1938 is not yet on the list of blends to be re-released. Luckily we have a few tins of Dunhill’s BB1938 left in stock therefore there’s still an opportunity for you to try it.

This medium mixture has spicy tones and hints of caramel sweetness from Virginias and some compare it to Dunhill’s Early Morning Pipe but milder with more flavour. Surprisingly smooth for a medium tobacco you will appreciate this blend if you’re a fan of Dunhill Mixture 965, it has less sweetness and less strength. Spice and citrus tones from rich Virgina flavour with Latakia makes a complicated flavour profile
