La Historia

Ramon Allones was a Galician who migrated to Cuba and founded his own company in 1837.

He is remembered today as a pioneer.

This is primarily for his ingenious lithograph technique that has become synonymous with cigar branding until the present day.

Another little known fact is that he was the first person to market selling boxes of 25 cigars, another tradition carried until present.

The bold and exciting colours, emblems and illustrative decor all started with this man. Up until the 1970’s Ramon Allones was the British smokers cigar of choice.

Fate would see the brand fade into obscurity for a few decades before rising again, like a phoenix from the ashes.

Thankfully today we can graciously enjoy his legacy by smoking one of these excellent cigars.

Ramon would be ecstatic to know that his brand was still manufacturing cigars nearly two centuries after its creation.

Gigantes

The Gigantes is a grandiose double corona. At 7 ⅝ inches the Gigantes invites you to sit contemplatively for a few hours and watch the world pass by.

Bold, intense and full flavoured are a few of the descriptors that best fit this cigar.

As with all the best Cuban cigars, specially selected leaves from the Vuelta Abajo region are used for the filler and binder of these beauties.

The Gigantes starts out with the taste of creamy black pepper and pronounced grassy tones. As the cigar progresses and smooths out, these are interspersed with notes of wood and earthiness.

The third act opens up into a crescendo of nuts and cedar, the black pepper reprising its role. Undoubtedly Gigantes are a statement, an unwavering icon that encapsulates 200 years of cigar history.
