Introduction
Partagas, Romeo y Julieta & H.Upmann. Some of the biggest names in the cigar industry. These Cuban heavyweights have amassed fans across the globe, each drawn to the quality and flavour these brands offer.
We are pleased to announce that we have the new Linea Retro tins from each of these brands. These were announced back in 2017 and have just started to circulate. The first thing to note is each tin is presented with a striking retro logo embossed on the front. These are nostalgically appealing, the aesthetics harkening back to a time of old. Contained within are five cigars, housed safely within the handy steel tin.
Each brand’s cigar is a Petit Corona / Mareva vitola being just over 5 inches in length with a 42 ring gauge. Each offers a smoke that will last around 30 minutes. These cigars are perfect for a night out and will be kept safe from harm thanks to the high quality of the tins they are packaged in.

Partagas: Capitols (Tin Of 5 Cigars)
- VITOLA: Capitols
- RING GAUGE: 42
- LENGTH: 5⅛ Inches – 130 mm
- ORIGIN: Cuba
Partagas Capitols, as with all Partagas cigars, provides a powerful full flavour and body smoke. Some may be surprised that this slimmer ring gauge cigar can still offer the same wonderful experience as its bigger brothers.
The Capitols proves that it can stand amongst the other cigars in Partagas’ catalogue with no signs of being outclassed.
When looking at the wrapper one will note the deceptive milk chocolate colour that may for the uninitiated signify a lighter smoke.
This is not the case. Perfectly constructed, these cigars are slightly rough to the touch and have a matt finish.
When lit the cigar first comes forth with notes of fresh baked bread and light spices. This works up to more intense flavours as the cigar progresses, dark chocolate and citrus being most pronounced. For the final third the cigar plateaus, finishing up as a blend on the aforementioned bread with a kick of something underlying, perhaps cinnamon.
Cigar Aficionado gave the Partagas Capitols a rating of 91/100.

Romeo y Julieta: Club Kings (Tin Of 5 Cigars)
- VITOLA: Mareva
- RING GAUGE: 42
- LENGTH: 5⅛ Inches – 129 mm
- ORIGIN: Cuba
Romeo y Julieta Club Kings, a dynamic Mareva that displays all the class that the brand is renowned for.
When compared to the Partagas Capitols, this cigar is an easy going affair, never peaking past medium bodied.
The wrapper of the Club Kings is a golden brown. It sports some small veins and an enchanting oily sheen.
When first lit the cigar greets you with that expected classic Havana flavour. Pepper and cedar with a subtle sweetness are present for much of the first third.
It is around the halfway mark that the cigar blossoms into a mixture of fresh grass and butterscotch, truly delightful! For the final act the cigar mellows out to a smooth, refreshing vegetal flavour.
Cigar Aficionado gave the Romeo y Julieta Club Kings a rating of 91/100.

H.Upmann: Regalias (Tin Of 5 Cigars)
- VITOLA: Petit Corona
- RING GAUGE: 42
- LENGTH: 5½ Inches – 140 mm
- ORIGIN: Cuba
Last but not least we have the infallible Regalias by H.Upmann.
A stylish, light to medium bodied Petit Corona that is sure to leave you full of glee. It will come as no surprise that these cigars are rolled to the highest standard thanks to the brand’s 178 year history.
When looking at the exterior of a Regalias you can’t help but be taken in by the captivating wrapper leaf that is a striking caramel brown colour. Some veins are present but none are too prominent.
Upon being lit a creamy pepper palate is initially present but this quickly smooths out becoming a pleasant familiar taste reminiscent of baked goods. A great start!
As the Regalias progresses into its next stage the flavours open up to a black pepper and cereal combination. Towards the end some subtle nuances creep in, notably roasted nuts and creamy coffee. A truly terrific cigar.
Cigar Aficionado gave the H.Upmann Regalias a rating of 93/100.
