“I am a family man with a passion for cigar making. The company is named after my two sons, Alec & Bradley. I truly hoped that when they came of age, they would join me on my journey in the premium cigar business. I set aside rare tobaccos for that day, if it came. Crafted with those tobaccos, The Lineage is dedicated to my sons, both of whom now work alongside me every day, continuing the legacy as second generation cigar makers.”

Introduction
This month is the start of our new monthly cigar spotlight, or “Cigar Of The Month”. To kick it off we have a truly exquisite new world cigar from Alec Bradley. It may come as a surprise to many that a Honduran/Nicaraguan cigar would be the first on our list, but let us explain why!
Construction
The first thing of note is probably the perfectly executed pigtail cap upon the Lineage. A beautiful deep brown, smooth wrapper leaf with a chocolatey complexion makes this extremely appealing to the eye.
This wrapper leaf is sourced from an exclusive region of Honduras known as the Trojes region. Below this is a specially selected binder from the hills of Nicaragua. When it comes to the filler, tobacco has been sourced from both of these countries and expertly blended to create a one of a kind robusto.
When nosed, subtle sweet spicy notes are present, intertwined with a pleasant rich tobacco smell. Once the cap has been cut a pre light draw will bring about hints of dried fruits.
How It Smokes
Described by many as sweet and savoury, The Lineage is known for its complex palate and many nuanced tones. When starting out you are most likely to encounter a full smoke that is creamy in texture and baring spicy and woody notes.
Through this first phase transient rich tobacco tones start to pick up, becoming more prominent as we enter the second third.
Here we start to encounter what would be described as more savoury tones, a profound meatiness is present and occasionally makes way for a salted caramel profile, only to dip back into that meaty flavour.
For the final act a crescendo of creaminess is intermingled with distinct notes of cedar and mint. Some can pick out other subtle flavours such as digestives and cereal notes, it all depends on the smoker but ultimately all these flavours work!
Throughout the smoking of this cigar you will note the fantastic draw and long time it can take to smoke with users averaging anywhere between 1 hour and 10 minutes to over 2 hours. This is the perfect cigar for that summer day at the barbeque, by the beach or just on the local park bench.
