Another stand out dark cigar from A.J Fernandez, the New World Oscuro Petit Corona is available now in tins of five or as single cigars. The artwork on the front of the tins is a homage to the introduction of tobacco to the wider world in 1492 displaying Columbus as he arrived on shore.
Embarking on this project A.J Fernandez coopted the help of his father for their first joint venture. The combined knowledge of these two tobacco aficionados was guaranteed to result in something noteworthy.
It is without doubt that the New World Oscuro line is full-bodied and full strength, appealing to those seeking bolder flavours and intense nicotine hits. Unlike many of the other cigars in the Fernandez catalogue these cigars only utilise Nicaraguan tobaccos.
The Dark Nicaragua wrapper leaf sits somewhere between red and brown aesthetically and has a rustic texture. Expertly rolled there is only a little give when applying some pressure to the side of the cigar.
Jalapa has been selected for the binder and decadent Condega and Esteli fillers have been paired resulting in a cigar with some serious panache.
When smoked one can expect to encounter a mixture of flavours from straight black coffee tones to white pepper and mint. These cigars are recommended for experienced cigar smokers.
